Industrial and Financial Systems (IFS) is a global provider of business software with headquarters in Linköping , Sweden . IFS was founded in 1983 and today employs around 3700 people worldwide.

IFS develops and delivers business software worldwide for companies that produce and sell goods, build and maintain plants and provide services.

IFS World AB

In 1983 a group of budding engineers in Sweden began developing business software. IFS published IFS Maintenance as the first software product in 1986 . IFS Applications was launched as a complete package in 1990. Today, around 60 web-enabled components are integrated in IFS Applications . Today the company has around 70 branches in around 50 countries.

The CEO has been the former president of SAP's cloud business, Darren Roos, since April 2018.

IFS Germany

In 1983 GSB mbH (Society for Software Development and Consulting) was founded in Erlangen. GSB developed and distributed the corporate solution Siline, later GSB-iV. In 1997 IFS founded IFS Deutschland GmbH in Germany with a branch in Aachen . At the end of 1998 the merger between GSB and IFS took place. In addition to its headquarters in Erlangen, IFS is now represented in Germany with further branches in Dortmund, Mannheim and Neuss.

In 2008 IFS Schweiz AG was founded in Watt / Zurich .

IFS Applications

IFS Applications is a complex business solution (ERP) developed on the basis of components. The tenth generation of corporate software is based entirely on the open service-oriented component architecture (SOA) . Operation is via a web-based portal interface that has been optimized for mobile use and is currently available in 22 languages.
