Industriel

from Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

Industriel is one of the four most important production categories of the French Appellation d'Origine Protegée (AOP) for cheeses. The milk is bought from a number of producers in regions that are sometimes far away and produced on an industrial scale.

The quantities produced in this way are very large. Cheeses made in this way are usually available all over France. Many are also exported abroad.

Other approved production categories of the Appellation d'Origine Contrôlée are Artisanal , Coopératives and Fermier .
