The Swiss child and youth promotion Infoklick.ch is a contact point for children and young people who want to get actively involved with their own ideas and their personal resources.

The non-profit organization aims to ensure that children and young people are integrated into society, feel comfortable and have optimal conditions for developing and shaping their lives independently, regardless of their origin, belief, gender, level of education or their own financial opportunities.

history

In the spring of 1996, the Moosseedorf suburb of Bern came up with the idea of involving young people more closely in the development of the community with the help of a participation project. Little by little, other places are also interested in this participatory method.

Since the local youth secretariat cannot meet the increasing inquiries from other regions, the association Klick ,ipps und Infos was founded on June 29th, 1998 and the initiative was put on a private basis. At this point in time, young people found answers and support at www.infoklick.ch.

In 2001 the association set up a professionally run office, but most people are still involved in their own projects on a voluntary basis. In 2002 the organization initiated the establishment of the umbrella association for open youth work (DOJ) , and in 2003 the name was changed to Infoklick.ch .

In 2005, the association opened a national center for child and youth development Passepartout-ch in Moosseedorf , where numerous actors in child and youth work were subsequently settled.

In 2006, the association took over the mandate of youth development for the canton of Solothurn and opened its first regional office there. In 2007 further branches followed in Basel and Lausanne . In the same year the non-profit organization took over the support of Tschau , an online counseling service for young people.

In mid-July 2008, the association held a summer academy for the first time in Engelberg . The congress for the advancement of children and young people brings together experts from science, practice and administration. In September 2009, the association held a special exhibition on the subject of "Youth" at the Heso Solothurn.

Since 2011, the association has been running a project center in Zurich in collaboration with okaj zürich.

Projects

The association runs and supports projects for children and young people in the three areas of information, promotion and politics.

  • In the area of information, the organization offers information on all areas of life for children and young people. The information should offer them and their caregivers orientation and support for self-help. The largest offers in this area include the online advice service "Tschau", the discount card Infocard and the online homework help "Lern-mit-Spass.ch".
  • The funding department supports activities by young people. This also includes encouraging young people and their caregivers with and without project experience to participate. The most important offers in this area are the municipal participation project "Youth With Effect" and the intercultural street football league "Buntkicktgut".
  • In the field of politics, the association mainly conducts educational work in the social discussion on all topics that are relevant for children and young people. The association sees itself as an independent ambassador for children and young people.
