Information Presentation Facility
IPF is the abbreviation for the Information Presentation Facility from IBM . It is an SGML award for creating online help files for the OS / 2 operating system . Binary help files (HLP) or online books (INF) are generated from the corresponding source text files using a compiler (IPFC).
history
IPF and INF were first used in 1989 for the OS / 2 1.2 operating system online help . The last editions of IBM PC-DOS also use the INF format for the help function.
