Information in the morning has been the morning news broadcast of the public radio station Deutschlandfunk (DLF) since October 7, 1974, at that time still under the title Deutschlandfunk five after five . It is produced by the Zeitfunk editorial staff.

In terms of content, the program consists of reports and reports on current news events. The reports come from reporters from DLF and ARD radio. In addition, there are longer interviews (5 to 10 minutes) with personalities, especially from politics, who are often quoted by other media.

Broadcast times

The morning information is sent Monday to Saturday (except on national holidays, December 24th and December 31st) at the following times:

  • Monday-Friday: 5:05 am to 9:00 am
  • Saturday: 6:10 a.m. to 9:00 a.m.

format

Messages are sent twice in every hour of broadcast (on the hour and on the half hour). The messages on the hour vary in length in the individual broadcast hours; there are five- and ten-minute news editions. In addition, the following regular sections can be found in the program:

  • Sports
    • Mon-Sat: 7:56 am, 8:47 am
  • Podium (longer report, no longer necessarily featured in every program)
    • Mon-Sat: 7:50 am

The music in the program serves to relax the mind and to balance the time between the verbal contributions, some of which are broadcast live and some of which are recorded. Only instrumental music is played without vocals, which can be hidden at any time. Music played comes back into the program after 14 days at the earliest.
