Inga Orechowa

Inga Orechowa (also Inga Orekhova ) (born November 10, 1989 in Sevastopol ) is an Austrian basketball player of Ukrainian  descent.

career

Orechowa is the daughter of the Ukrainian basketball players Sergej Orechow and Swetlana Orechowa, who moved to Austria in 1992.

Orechowa, who measures 1.88 meters, learned to play basketball in the junior division of UKJ St. Pölten and UBBC Herzogenburg. In Herzogenburg she made the leap into the women's division as a teenager. In 2006 she won the state championship and the cup competition with the Lower Austrians. Her mother was also part of Herzogenburg's squad at the time, and her father was an assistant coach. Orechowa played for Austria's U18 national team.

From 2007 she visited in the State of California school The Bishop's School and played there until 2010 Basketball. In the 2010/11 season, the development player was in the squad of Northeastern Oklahoma A&M College and convinced there with 19.2 points per encounter. Between 2011 and 2014 Orechowa played at the University of Southern Florida . In a total of 87 missions she was in the starting line-up 84 times and achieved an average of 12.3 points per game.

In the draft proceedings of the US league WNBA in 2014, Orechowa was selected by Atlanta Dream (2nd round, 18th place). She was the first Austrian whose name was called when the talent award of the WNBA. It was used in two WNBA games in May 2014, but removed from Atlanta's roster in early June 2014. In the 2014/15 season she was under contract with the Belgian first division club Belfius Namur . She scored 10.2 points and 5.2 rebounds per match in the league and also gained European Cup experience with Namur.

In the 2015 WNBA season, she was part of the Connecticut Sun squad . She was used in four games, ending her stint in Connecticut in early July 2018. In the summer of 2015 she signed with the Turkish club Mersin Büyükşehir Belediyespor , and at the beginning of October 2015 the contract was terminated before the start of the season. Shortly afterwards she returned to Belfius Namur in Belgium. Then she took a break, in November 2016 she gave birth to a daughter, the father is the American basketball player Richie Williams .

In the 2019/20 season, she returned to the field and strengthened the Finnish first division club Espoo Basket.
