Inge Paulini

Inge Paulini (* 1960 or 1961 in Transylvania , Romania ) is a German toxicologist and nutritionist. Since 2017 she has succeeded Wolfram König as President of the Federal Office for Radiation Protection (BfS). Before that, she was Secretary General of the Scientific Advisory Board on Global Change (WBGU) since 2009 .

Life

Paulini studied nutritional sciences (ecotrophology) at the University of Bonn . She completed her Master of Science in Pullman / USA. In 1991 she did her doctorate with a toxicological thesis ( Toxic damage and regeneration of lung tissue after inhalation of cadmium compounds. A comparative morphological study on rats, hamsters and mice ) for Dr. rer. nat at the University of Hanover .

From 1993 to 2008 she worked for the Federal Environment Agency , where she most recently headed the policy department, which focuses on sustainability strategies, environmental law and environmental economics. Paulini is a member of a number of bodies for sustainable development.
