Ingrid Rüütel (born November 3, 1935 in Tallinn ; née Ruus ) is an Estonian folklorist and philologist.

Ingrid Rüütel was born as the daughter of the Estonian actress Linda Karin Ruus and the communist politician Neeme Ruus . Her father was executed by German troops in 1942 during the Nazi occupation of Estonia .

Ingrid Rüütel is the wife of the politician Arnold Rüütel and was First Lady of the Republic of Estonia during his tenure as Estonian President from 2001 to 2006 .
