Non-Proliferation and Disarmament Initiative

The Initiative for Non-Proliferation and Disarmament , English Non-Proliferation and Disarmament Initiative (NPDI), is a coalition of states formed on the initiative of Australia and Japan , which was founded after the Review Conference of the Nuclear Non-Proliferation Treaty (NPDI ) in September 2010. Its main concern is the implementation of the decisions of the Review Conference and progress on nuclear disarmament .

The NPDI has no formal statutes and no permanent secretariat. The decisions are made by the member states at the annual conferences by consensus, but do not require unanimity. Germany chaired the meeting on September 22, 2015.

Member states

Member states of the NPDI are Australia , Chile , Germany , Japan , Canada , Mexico , the Netherlands , Nigeria (since 2013), the Philippines (since 2013), Poland , Turkey and the United Arab Emirates (UAE).
