Injection allergen
An injection allergen is a substance that penetrates the skin from the outside, for example as a result of an insect bite, and triggers an allergic reaction .
Injection allergens are characterized by the fact that the boundary layer of the skin (and mucous membranes) required for the other sensitizations is overcome by the injection process. The most important representatives of these allergens are insect poisons ( insect venom allergy : especially bee and wasp venom ). Medicines administered parenterally are also counted in this form if they cause allergies in the organism.
