Inmarsat B

Inmarsat B was a communication service offered by the communication service provider Inmarsat .

Inmarsat B came onto the market in 1993 as a further development of Inmarsat A. Just as it was possible with Inmarsat A, Inmarsat B

• Telephony / voice connection
• fax
• Data transmission (e.g. Internet) with 9.6 - 64 kbit / s.

In contrast to Inmarsat A, Inmarsat B was digital and GMDSS compatible.

Inmarsat B was discontinued on December 30, 2016.
