Insat 3E is an Indian communications satellite of the In dian National Sat ellite System, or INSAT, and run by the ISRO operated. It is the fourth satellite to be launched in the Insat-3 series.

Insat 3E was from Kourou , French Guiana , by the European Ariane-5G - launcher along with Euro Bird 3 and SMART-1 launched into space. The satellite was brought into its final geostationary orbit by the burning of the Liquid Apogee Motor (LAM) on board .
End of operation
In March 2014, the attitude control fuel was exhausted, so that it was shifted to a cemetery orbit above the geostationary belt.
