The island boarding school Norderney , also an asthma and allergy center for children and adolescents, was a boarding school set up on the East Frisian island of Norderney for adolescents with asthma , allergies and neurodermatitis . It was founded on October 15, 1978, and closed in 2004.

For more than 26 years many hundreds of sick young people were successfully treated with climatic therapy according to Wolfgang Menger , so that they were able to obtain a school leaving certificate. The local cooperative comprehensive school (KGS Norderney) was visited, which could be expanded to a comprehensive school with a high school branch due to the large number of boarding students.

The boarding school accommodation for the children and young people was partly financed by the welfare associations and by their parents' contributions. The carrier was the Deaconess Mother House Kinderheil e. V., which in the immediate vicinity also sponsors the Seehospiz Norderney GmbH, a rehabilitation clinic for children and adolescents.
