Inselstrasse 27 (Düsseldorf)
The residential building Inselstrasse 27 in Düsseldorf-Pempelfort was built by the Düsseldorf architects Otto van Els and Bruno Schmitz in 1887 for city councilor August Hüllstrung. In 1900 the courtyard wing was expanded. Building officer Carl Wiegang, the new owner of the house, had the house rebuilt by the architect Hermann vom Endt .
description
The building has three floors. The facade is divided into four axes. The entrance is under a round arch on the left. On the first floor there is a balcony resting on volutes , which occupies the two central axes.
Art historical significance
The history of the architecture and the city, as well as the exterior design, played a decisive role in why the building was placed under monument protection:
"Due to the very high quality design and as one of the last testimonies to the representative residential development on the Hofgarten for architectural and city-historical reasons, the house is a listed building."
history
The house was used as a stately home. The house later housed the Robert Schumann Conservatory. Today it is the seat of the pension scheme of the North Rhine-Westphalia Chamber of Architects .
