Insertion (from the Latin inserere "insert") stands for:
- Placing an ad
- Attachment of a tendon to a bone, see origin and attachment
- Incorporation of additional nucleotides into the DNA during gene mutation, see insertion (genetics)
- Incorporation of an atom or group of atoms into an existing chemical bond, see insertion reaction
