Institute Technology-Theology-Natural Sciences

The Institute for Technology-Theology-Natural Sciences (Institute TTN) is an affiliated institute at the Ludwig Maximilians University in Munich . The association is responsible for promoting the dialogue between technology, theology and natural science

The main focus of the institute's work is on projects on ethical issues in the fields of biotechnology , genetic engineering , medicine , agriculture , the environment and energy technology as well as their economic application. The institute was founded in 1992 on the initiative of a group of natural scientists , philosophers , technicians from industry and theologians with the aim of promoting interdisciplinary dialogue on ethical questions from natural science and technology. It is financed through membership fees from its sponsoring association, funding grants from the Evangelical Lutheran Church in Bavaria , sponsorship money and third-party research funding.
