The Institut de Soudure was founded in France in 1905 and provides technical support to the industry through industrial research and development, third-party monitoring, regulatory testing, non-destructive testing, education, training in welding technology and inspection, qualification, certification and occupational safety.

The institute has many years of experience on the subject of materials and their behavior in operation, welding and joining technology, material testing and pressure equipment regulations. It is the leading company in the field of welding technology in France and a member of the International Institute of Welding . It is represented on a national and international level by authorized branches. Large companies such as Total, Shell, Technip, Gaz de France (GDF), Electricité de France (EDF), Renault and Peugeot are among the clients of the Institut de Soudure.
