Institute for Nanotechnology, Electronics and Device Construction
The Institute for Nanotechnology, Electronics and Device Construction ( INEG , formerly the Faculty of Electronics and Device Construction ) was founded in 1952 as part of the Taganrog Radiotechnical Institute (renamed Taganrog State Radiotechnical University in 1993); the INEG has been a structural unit of the Southern Federal University since 2006 .

18 science doctors, professors and more than 70 science candidates and lecturers work in seven departments of the institute. The institute is located in a new teaching and laboratory building and is equipped with modern equipment. In addition to basic physical and mathematical training, students receive knowledge of electronics, design, computers and programming, skills in psychology, management, foreign languages and much more.
The Center for Nanotechnology
On the basis of the INEG, the largest scientific and educational center "Nanotechnology" was created by the Southern Federal University in southern Russia, which is equipped with unique equipment. This enables scientific research to be carried out and world-class training programs to be implemented in the most modern areas of science and technology. The institute's research prioritises the most promising and advanced areas of science and technology, from biomedical to nanotechnology. Scientific work on the research, development and production of competitive products is carried out at each chair in the faculty. The results of scientific activity are confirmed by numerous Russian and international patents and certificates, which are actively used in the learning process to improve the quality of education of undergraduate and graduate students.

The main training programs of the institute have been internationally accredited by the accreditation agencies of the USA and the European Union.
