Institute of Philosophy of the Academy of Sciences of the Czech Republic

The Institute of Philosophy of the Academy of Sciences of the Czech Republic is affiliated with the Academy of Sciences of the Czech Republic . It was created in 1990 when the Institute for Philosophy of the Czechoslovak Academy of Sciences was re-established in 1970 . The institute's scientific activity is geared towards long-term philosophical research projects. These are tasks the necessity of which arises from new knowledge of philosophy and the development of Czech culture. In addition to philosophy, related disciplines are also included in the projects. These include philosophy of science, logic, and communicology . Translations and the preparation of editions of classic texts are also part of the work.

The director of the institute is Pavel Baran .
