Institut national de physique nucléaire et de physique des particules

The French Institute national de physique nucléaire et de physique des particules ( IN2P3 ; German National Institute for Nuclear Physics and Particle Physics ) is an institute of the Center national de la recherche scientifique . It was founded in 1971. Topics are nuclear and particle physics , as well as astroparticle physics and cosmology . The institute has 24 laboratories and facilities with a total of around 3200 employees.

The research institutions involved are spread all over France and are often linked to universities. One example is the Center d'études nucléaires Bordeaux Gradignan (CENBG) in Bordeaux.
