Intec

from Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

The Intec is a trade fair for production technology, tool and special machine construction. It takes place every 2 years at the New Leipzig Exhibition Center .

history

The Intec took place for the first time in 1998 in the exhibition halls at the Schlossteich in Chemnitz. Organized and carried out by Messe-Management Balke + Kaiser from Chemnitz. But already in 1999 the halls were fully booked, so that the fair 2000 moved to the Chemnitz Park-Halle Röhrsdorf. From now on there was a steady growth of the trade fair so that already in 2006 the Chemnitz trade fair, most recently 11,500 visitors and 432 exhibitors, was no longer enough and a move to Leipzig was decided. The 10th Intec 2007 took place for the first time at the New Leipzig Exhibition Center. Here the Intec was linked with 2 other trade fairs, the rohima and Z, the supplier fair. In 2008 the Rohima was integrated into the Z so that there is only one trade fair duo. In 2008, 1,200 exhibitors and 16,000 visitors came to the two trade fairs.

Intec price

The Intec Prize has been awarded at the Intec since 2000, and was endowed with 25,000 DM for the first time by the City of Chemnitz. In Leipzig there is the award in 2 categories, one for companies with 50 employees or less, whereby the city of Leipzig, the Leipzig Trade Fair, the competence center for mechanical engineering Chemnitz / Saxony and the RKW Sachsen appear as sponsors. The 2nd category is for companies with more than 50 employees and is funded by Sachsen LB. Both prizes are endowed with 6,000 euros. In 2008 the Intec Young Talent Award was also awarded, endowed with 1,500 euros and sponsored by the Kaiser trade fair management.
