IntelliTXT

from Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

IntelliTXT is an "InText" advertising platform developed by Vibrant Media . It is an example of keyword advertising , a type of advertising in which a term is marked in the text that is specifically linked to advertising.

technology

The webmaster inserts a script into the page called the IntelliTXT platform. This script searches specifically for keywords in order to link them to relevant advertising. These words are usually underlined twice and marked in this way. If you hold the mouse over such a term, a pop-up window appears showing advertising related to this term.

The "advantage" of this technology is that the page remains clear and the advertising is automatically adapted to the respective content. However, the text is more difficult to read because the screen pops significantly impair the flow of reading. Internet surfers perceive this add-on - which is usually installed in the browser without being asked - to be malware and how it can be removed again is discussed in numerous Internet forums. The usually cumbersome procedures are usually of little help, since an "update" function is included that reinstalls this software every few days; Unlike other add-ons, it can only be "deactivated" in the browser, not permanently removed. The only safe and permanent solution is to find the program (which is usually disguised by some unsuspicious name) and uninstall it through the Control Panel. You can tell that the deinstallation was successful when it has disappeared from the add-on list - not just "deactivated".
