Inter Versicherungsgruppe is an insurance group based in Mannheim . Around 1,000 people are currently employed there; Inter is thus one of the largest employers in the region. Throughout Germany, Inter is represented with numerous offices and employees in the office and in the field.

history
Inter Lebensversicherung goes back to the Insurance Company of the East German Chamber of Crafts (VOHK) founded by the Berlin Chamber of Crafts in 1910. In 1930 the VOHK became two independent associations for life and health insurance.
In 1926 the Nothilfe sickness benefit fund was founded in Ludwigshafen. In 1935 it relocated to the current headquarters of Inter in Mannheim. The cooperation with VOHK began in 1963. In 1968 Nothilfe merged with VOHK Krankenversicherung and from 1971 on it operated as Inter Krankenversicherung aG. At the same time, VOHK Lebensversicherung became Inter Lebensversicherung aG. In 1976 it merged with the Rheinisch-Westfälische Lebensversicherung from Wuppertal.
In 1981 Inter Allgemeine Versicherung was founded as an accident insurance company. In 1993 she added property and liability insurance to her program, and in 2001 she took over industrial insurance business in Cologne through the takeover of Sampo Germany. The industrial portfolio has meanwhile been sold again. In 1991 Inter formed a group of equal rights with the Free Doctors and Medicine Fund. In 1994 she took over the majority in Bausparkasse Mainz and in 1996 the Polish TU Fortuna, which has been called TU Inter Polska since 2000.
Until the end of September 2016, Inter Krankenversicherung aG was the parent company.

Inter Krankenversicherung AG developed from the “Nothilfe” health benefit fund founded in 1926. Inter Lebensversicherung AG
