Interaural

Interaural (from Latin inter "between" and auris " ear ") means "between the ears".

The term is primarily used in acoustics , sound engineering and audiology to denote differences or relationships related to both ears. Play like that

  • the interaural time differences ( time difference , interaural time delay ITD),
  • the interaural level differences ( level difference , interaural level difference ILD),
  • the interaural phase differences

plays a decisive role in the localization of auditory events in humans and animals .

In contrast to this term interaural is interchannel .
