Interdorsal ridge

from Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

The interdorsal ridge is a ridged skin ridge on the back of many sharks . It is located between the first, usually larger, and the second dorsal fin and forms a line with them when viewed from above. As an anatomical feature, the interdorsal ridge is particularly important for differentiating the species within the Requiem sharks (Carcharhinidae).
