Interest group of pig farmers in Germany
The ISN - Interest Group of Pig Keepers Germany eV (ISN) is an association of German pig farmers. It represents the interests of around 11,705 (as of February 2010) pig farmers in relation to politics and the economy in Germany and Europe. It is based in Damme , Lower Saxony.
The Union
The association was founded in 1988 by several farmers, first in Lower Saxony. Later the name changed to the interest group of pig keepers North-West Germany eV and then to the current form. The ISN is a member of the Central Association of German Pig Production (ZDS).

Service company
In order to strengthen the German pig farmers, the ISN has founded various service companies. On the one hand, this is the ISW - the interest group of the pig keeper Wirtschafts-GmbH. The members can sell their pigs through this society. The advantage is that the animals are covered by credit default insurance and are reimbursed in full in the event of the bankruptcy of a slaughterhouse or cattle dealer. The ISW also offers the internet pig exchange. There, pigs are traded in an auction every Wednesday at 2 p.m. Piglets can also be obtained from ISW. Another mainstay of ISW is liquefied gas trading. ISW grew up in this business when it took legal action against the gas companies' long-term gas supply contracts. Through a flood of various legal proceedings, the ISW has managed to break the monopoly of the liquefied gas companies. So are many members of the ISN even though they do not keep pigs. Another company that ISN founded is ISW - Versicherungsmakler GmbH, which was founded in 1997. It offers all-round insurance protection in all areas.
The youth organization of the ISN is the Young ISN.
