tasks

According to the statutes, the association should promote German pig production in such a way that its competitive strength is strengthened. The association maintained numerous committees for breeding, husbandry, performance testing, market observation and image and published the results. The ZDS had more than 100 members and belonged to the working group of German animal breeders . The members were informed by newsletter and the association's magazine “Schweinzucht und Schweinemast” .

The association was founded in 2017 with the Bundesverband Rind und Schwein e. V., Bonn, merged. The magazine “ Schweinzucht und Schweinemast” (SUS) is now published by Landwirtschaftsverlag GmbH, Münster.
