Intermediate metabolism

from Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

Under intermediary metabolism or intermediate-metabolism (Amphibolismus) refers to metabolic reactions in which metabolites of low molecular mass are (<1000 g / mol) are converted into each other. Here, depending on requirements, metabolites are obtained from catabolism or anabolism . The intermediate metabolism therefore does not include any build-up reactions or breakdown reactions for biopolymers .
