International Association for the Evaluation of Educational Achievement

The International Association for the Evaluation of Educational Achievement (IEA) is an international association for educational research and can be understood as a global player in international system monitoring.

The Amsterdam-based association was founded in 1958 and organizes school performance tests such as TIMSS and PIRLS / IGLU ; also assessment studies, e.g. B. Large projects such as COMPED (Computers in Education) and SITES (Second International Technology in Education Study). The methodology developed for this has also shaped the PISA studies carried out by the OECD .

International participation

Austria has so far only participated in two IEA studies: COMPED (HAIDER 1994) and TIMSS (HAIDER 1996).
