from Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

The IASPEI , advertised by the International Association of Seismology and Physics of the Earth's Interior, is one of the seven geological associations of the International Union for Geodesy and Geophysics (IUGG). It includes seismology and the physics of the Earth's interior 1 ).

It emerged as a result of a resolution of the First International Seismological Conference in Strasbourg , convened by Georg Gerland in 1901 , at which the " International Seismology Association ", founded on April 1, 1904, was decided, which later became part of the IASPEI. This in turn joined the IUGG in 1973 as a scientific association.
