The International Crane Foundation (ICF) is a scientific organization dedicated to the research and protection of the 15 species of crane . Its headquarters are in Baraboo , Wisconsin , USA .

One of the goals is to build a seed bank for cranes until the factors that are causing their population decline are eliminated. Above all, cranes suffer from the decline in their habitat, which mainly consists of wetlands .

The association has started a program to breed cranes in captivity. The first successes in breeding brolga cranes and black-necked cranes in the USA are due to the ICF. In addition, it is part of the ICF's program to establish nature reserves where cranes are at home.
