International Food Policy Research Institute

The International Food Policy Research Institute (IFPRI) is a research institute founded in 1975 in the field of development policy and headquartered in Washington DC.It develops strategic solutions to reduce poverty in developing countries, improve nutrition and health in the long term, and make agricultural growth environmentally friendly promote. The institute is primarily financed by public funds and private foundations and is one of 15 international research institutions supported by the Advisory Group for International Agricultural Research . According to its own statements, the institute employs more than 600 people in over 50 countries.

The general manager has been a Shenggen fan since December 2009. He replaced his predecessor, the German agricultural scientist Joachim von Braun .
