The International Maritime College Oman (IMCO) ( Arabic كلية عمان البحرية الدولية, DMG Kullīyat ʿUmān al-Baḥrīya ad-Daulīya ) is a private technical college in Sib in Oman .
The IMCO was founded in 2005 as a joint venture between the Omani state and the Dutch Shipping and Transport College Group (STC). The college is majority (70%) owned by the state.
The college is currently located near Muscat Airport on the campus of the Oman Tourism College . However, a move to the port city of Suhar is planned for the end of September 2010 . The newly constructed building offers space for 1,500 students. In the long term, the construction of a branch in Salala is also planned, which also has an important port. Two to three-year diploma courses and four-year bachelor courses are currently offered in four subject areas:
- Deck Officer (Nautical Studies);
- Marine Engineering Officer;
- Port, Shipping and Transport Management;
- Operation Technology (oil, gas and petrochemical process industries).
In addition, a foundation program is offered. In addition, the “Master of Science in Shipping and Transport” course has been established. Further training courses are also offered. The language of instruction is exclusively English. Tuition fees are RO 2,625 per year for the pre-study course and RO 3,675 per year for the academic programs.
