The International Fair of Thessaloniki (Διεθνής Έκθεση Θεσσαλονίκης ΔΕΘ, Thessaloniki International Fair TIF) is an autumn fair in Thessaloniki with the focus on consumer goods, capital goods, construction machinery, electrical household appliances. At the same time, it is also the sponsoring company of the exhibition center in Thessaloniki.

history

The company is a subsidiary of HELEXPO and was founded in 1925. The International Fair has been held in Thessaloniki since 1926 and has been opened by the Prime Minister since the 1960s. At the 1957 fair, the café frappé , very popular in Greece, was invented. Due to numerous special fairs, its importance has decreased, but it is still the largest fair in the country.

Investments

The exhibition center has a built-up area of ​​180,000 m². The OTE television tower and the Palais des Sports are also located on the exhibition grounds . A future move of the fair was recently decided. The umbrella company HELEXPO also operates another, smaller exhibition center in Athens.
