International Children's and Youth Theater Day

The International Children's and Youth Theater Day will take place on March 20th. It took place for the first time in 2001 on the initiative of ASSITEJ International, the worldwide network for the promotion of the performing arts for young audiences , and has since become more and more important in many countries around the world . ASSITEJ International invites its member states to use this day for specific campaigns and to draw attention to the situation of the performing arts for young audiences in public and in the mass media through specific projects .

With a network that brings together thousands of theaters and individuals from all corners of the world, ASSITEJ encourages young audiences to strive for the highest quality in terms of their theatrical work. ASSITEJ sees itself as a culturally unifying voice and follows the principles of equality , peace , education , and cultural and international ties.
