International Beer Day

The International Day of beer (Engl. International Beer Day ) takes place annually on the first Friday in August. On this day, beer is celebrated and drunk worldwide .

Goal setting

International Beer Day has three goals:

  • Meet friends to enjoy beer together.
  • To honor the men and women who brew and serve the beer .
  • To celebrate the beers of all nations and cultures together and thus to unite the world.

Origin and Distribution

International Beer Day was launched in 2007 by Jesse Avshalomov, Evan Hamilton, Aaron Araki, Richard Hernandez, Tyler Burton and Ryland Hale in the USA . First celebrated in August 2008, it grew in popularity in the years that followed. In 2011 there were 278 official events in 138 cities and 23 countries, and in the following year 353 official events in 207 cities and 50 countries. In 2013, almost 400 events were registered in numerous countries around the world, including Germany.
