International competition for young conductors Lovro von Matačić
The International Competition for Young Conductors Lovro von Matačić is organized by the Lovro and Lilly Matačić Foundation . The competition takes place every four years in Zagreb ( Croatia ) and is open to conductors up to the age of 35.
History of the competition
The Lovro and Lilly Matačić Foundation is continuing the path taken by his spiritual father Lovro von Matačić by organizing a conducting competition . The competition is designed as a forum for the promotion of young talent, which thanks to its reputation and influence receives worldwide attention and upholds and cherishes the memory of the artist whose name it bears, because the declared aim of the foundation is, in addition to the documentation and promotional activities, to recognize and support the continuation and vitality of the spiritual legacy of its founder as best as possible.
