The International Institute for Peace and Development Studies (in English, International Institute of Peace and Development Studies - IIPDS ) is an independent research organization based in Bangkok , Thailand, which has specialized in peace Konflikts- and development research.

The IIPDS publishes its research articles in books, edited volumes and scientific journals.

history

The IIPDS was established in 2005 by the Asian Resource Foundation (ARF), an international organization established in 1996 whose aim is to take an initiative in Asia to address the needs of vulnerable communities in the areas of parenting, children's rights, women's empowerment and development to do justice to youth leadership. The IIPDS was therefore created to meet the need for training and research in the field of peace and development and to provide scientific support for current humanitarian issues.

The current co-director is Abdus Sabur, who is also the general secretary of the ARF.

Training

The main educational activity of IIPDS is the School of Peace Studies and Conflict Transformation , which takes place once a year at the IIPDS headquarters in Bangkok. This annual school was established in 2006 and focuses on training in mechanisms for understanding peace and conflict in international and local contexts, positive conflict transformation and violence prevention.
