200 films from over 40 nations at the 3rd international youth film festival in Tyrol

From June 28th to 30th, 2006 the International Youth Film Festival Tyrol took place for the third and, for the time being, last time . Films from over 40 nations were submitted for the 2006 festival . The short films submitted have a maximum length of 30 minutes and are generally selected by a preliminary jury for the main competition. The film program for the three-day festival is tailored to the target audience.

For the three days of the festival, school classes from all over Austria were welcomed, who either took part in the festival with a film or had the opportunity to watch films and take part in workshops and discussions.

An international jury assessed the films that qualified for the main competition. The films were rated in different age categories.

Organizer Emanuel Altenburger was able to look forward to an increase in film registrations for the third and, for the time being, last edition of the festival. For example, the number of submissions to the 1st film festival was already doubled at the 2nd film festival in 2004. More than 200 films from 40 nations were submitted to the 3rd Youth Film Festival. The film festival enjoyed increasing popularity and acceptance among filmmakers around the world.

For the first time also online photo competition

For the first time, as part of the 3rd international youth film festival, there was also a youth photo competition (for photographers up to a maximum of 27 years of age). The best images from the web voting were printed in an illustrated book. The best 16 pictures of the photo competition were also exhibited to the public during the festival days and rated by the festival audience.
