The district of Trinity is in the north and New Town in the south, Stockbridge to the southwest and Canonmills to the southeast . It is only two kilometers to the city center. The name is derived from the Leith river ( usually Water of Leith to delimit the Leith district of the same name ) and means “mouth of the Leith” or “Innerer Leith”.

Inverleith is known for the Royal Botanic Garden Edinburgh , Fettes College and the former rugby field, which was used for international matches until 1925. Since then, the Murrayfield Stadium has been used.
