Star One (satellite operator)

Star One is a Brazilian satellite operator, a subsidiary of Embratel founded in 2000 . The company is based in Rio de Janeiro .

Satellite fleet

Star One has a small fleet of satellites.

Star One C1 was launched on board an Ariane 5-ECA at 10:06 p.m. UTC on November 14, 2007. Its launch was postponed on November 9th due to a problem with the rocket and on November 12th due to a problem with the launch pad. The satellite was built by Thales Alenia Space based on the Spacebus 3000 B3 platform. It houses 28 C-band transponders, 14 Ku-band transponders and one X-band transponder. Its mass was approx. 4100 kg at the start.

Star One C2 was launched at 12:17 a.m. UTC on April 19, 2008, also on board an Ariane 5 ECA .

Star One C3 was launched at 21:05 UTC on November 10, 2012, also on board an Ariane 5 ECA .

Star One also operates the Star One C12 , Brasilsat B3 and Brasilsat B4 satellites . The previous satellites Brasilsat A1 , Brasilsat A2 , Brasilsat B1 and Brasilsat B2 are out of service.
