Jan Maciejko
Jan Wincenty Maciejko (born January 2, 1913 in Tarnów , † October 21, 1993 in Kraków ) was a Polish ice hockey goalkeeper and coach .
Career
Jan Maciejko spent his entire career as an ice hockey player from 1926 to 1952 at KS Cracovia . With the team he won the Polish championship title as a goalkeeper in 1937, 1946, 1947 and 1949 . During the Second World War he fought against the German army during the invasion of Poland and was subsequently involved in active resistance underground.
In 1952 and 1953, Maciejko was the coach of Podhale Nowy Targ .
International
Maciejko took part in the 1948 Winter Olympics in St. Moritz for the Polish national ice hockey team. He was also in his country's squad at the World Championships in 1939 and 1947 . Between 1938 and 1952 he played a total of 28 international matches for Poland.
