The incisal point , also Incisale, (Latin incisive incisor) is the reference point when measuring the skull (cephalometry) and measuring the teeth . The incisal point is the point of contact between the incisal edges of the two lower central incisors (mesial approximal contact ). It is 1 mm below the cutting edge. Together with the geometric centers of the condyles of the temporomandibular joint, it defines the Bonwill triangle . When articulating dentition models in an articulator , the incisal point is aligned with the incisal pin.

The tip of the incisal edge of the most forward (labial) central upper or lower incisor is called the incision.
