Ioan Bogdan (born January 26, 1956 in Arad ) is a former Romanian football player . He played a total of 181 games in the Divizia A .

Career

Born from the youth of UTA Arad , Bogdan moved to second division Aurul Brad in 1977 . In the summer of 1978 he joined Corvinul Hunedoara . After relegation in 1979 he remained the club and managed under coach Mircea Lucescu immediate resurgence . In the following years he was actively involved in Corvinul's most successful period as a regular in the defense. The 1981/82 season he finished with his team in third place, which meant qualifying for the UEFA Cup .

In the summer of 1985 Bogdan left Corvinul after seven years and returned to his hometown club UTA Arad, which played in Divizia B. He ended his career there in 1987.

National team

Bogdan played nine games for the Romanian national team . He made his debut on April 14, 1982 in a friendly against Bulgaria , when he was under national coach Mircea Lucescu on the starting line-up. Until July 1982 he was a regular member of the national team. After that, his missions became less frequent. On June 1, 1983, he played his last international match against Yugoslavia .
