Iphimedeia

from Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

Iphimedeia ( Greek  Ἰφιμέδεια ) or Ephimedeia is a figure from Greek mythology . She was the daughter of Triops and the wife of Aloeus . She gave birth to the Aloadae (Αλοάδαι) or aloadae (Αλοεῖδαι, Latinized Aloïdae, after competing variants namesakes) Ephialtes and Otus. Who their father was is disputed; some sources speak of Poseidon , the god of the sea, others of Aloeus, her husband.
