Jomo Cosmos is a South African football club based in Johannesburg . The club is owned by former South African soccer player Jomo Sono .

The club was as Highlands Park founded in 1982 after returning from the Sonos American NASL based on his former club New York Cosmos in Jomo Cosmos renamed.

In 2008, Jomo Cosmos was relegated for the first time since 1993 from the South African first division , but managed to get promoted again. In the following year, the club fell back to the second highest league after relegation.
