The Iranian National Archives is the National Archives of Iran . The agency is maintained by the Iranian government to preserve and protect state and historically important documents. The main building is located in the capital Tehran .
history
Although the history and the collection of documents and their storage in state and royal magazines has a centuries-old tradition in Iran, the establishment of archives based on the European model dates back to the time of the Qajars . A first attempt was made in 1899 by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs to organize its archive on the model of European archives.
In 2002 the National Archives of the Iranian National Library was attached.
