Iris Lentjes

Iris Lentjes (* 1956 in Leipzig as Iris Krauße ) is a German singer of popular hits.

Life

Iris Lentjes was born in 1956 as Iris Krauße in Leipzig and lived there until 1983. She learned and worked for the Deutsche Reichsbahn and later worked as an office worker.

Until 1989 she sang in bands and also as a soloist in the amateur field. From 1994 she appeared again with a new concept. In 1998 she produced her first single and landed the title song Mein Gartenzwerg ist sexy in the cult show Achim's hit parade on MDR , on the radio and in the press (BILD et al.). Other titles followed and some TV appearances on MDR, e.g. B. in "Alles Gute", the special "Me and my garden" for Erika Krause, the magazine "Here from 2" on Harald Schmidt , as well as "Schrebers Wunderland" and "Ab durch die Mitte". Some of these TV appearances are the result of a collaboration with Arndt Bause . So z. B. "To the seventh heaven" with a text by Dieter Schneider, "A little house" (T.:W.-D.Fruck/Iris Lentjes) and "Come drink another glass with me" (TW-D. Fruck) . In addition, "To the seventh heaven" and "A little house" were placed in popular radio hit parades.

In 2002 Iris Lentjes published the title "I'm crazy about every hit" on Pewi Records. This is a smart adaptation of the traditional march "Greeting to Kiel" by Wilfried Peetz with a text by Elke Martens. In the same year the piece was represented in the popular charts of the MDR Saxony for a full 8 weeks.

Since 2008 there have been two maxi singles, each with three first voices ("You can't lie to your heart" and "Ein silent Glück") with ballads by the composer Willy Klüter , as well as with texts by Tobias Reitz and Bernd Augener . Other titles on these CDs are: "A little happiness sometimes becomes big", "Once sun, once rain", "Life goes on and on" and "Children are just like that". In 2012, together with the composer Willy Klüter, the titles "I would go with you again" and "My poetry" were created. Iris Lentjes herself is responsible for the texts of these two titles. All songs found their way into various hit parades. So z. B. in the popular charts of the MDR1, Radio Sachsen. All eight titles were placed for a maximum of eight weeks: "You can't lie to your heart" as well as a full eight weeks on Belgian radio, the BRF2. "Life goes on and on" was also in the popular hit parade of SWR4. "I would again ..." was also placed in the TOP 15 hit parade of NDR1 Lower Saxony several times, as well as in "Today in Hesse" on hr4 and in "Guten Abend" on SR3. In 2013 came "Come and pick me up with the Harley" with the music of Willy Klüter. Here the text by Iris Lentjes tells the story of a woman who, after decades of chatting, finds her swarm of teenagers from a holiday on the Baltic Sea. Iris Lentjes is on tour with her live program, which includes cult hits and popular rock ballads, folk music & country, as well as mostly her own songs.

Lentjes is married and has one son. Today she lives near Leipzig in the small town of Brandis.
