The Ironwood Forest National Monument is located in Arizona in the United States . The National Monument was established on June 9, 2000 and is administered by the Bureau of Land Management . The area includes both government-owned, Arizona-owned, and privately owned land. The area includes both desert and forests that are predominantly hardwoods, e.g. B. the American hornbeam and the eponymous desert ironwood ( Olneya tesota ). Furthermore, there are over 200 archaeologically important sites of the Hohokam culture in this area.

Some of the paths in the park are poorly developed. Tourists should have enough water and gasoline with them as there is no infrastructure in the park. There are no campsites, but camping is permitted for up to 14 days without a permit.
