Isaac ben Melchizedek of Siponto
Isaak ben Melchizedek of Siponto (born around 1090 in Siponto; died around 1160 ) was a 12th century Italian rabbi .
He was born the son of a learned Talmudist and later moved to Salerno . There he met Benjamin of Tudela , who later referred to him as "the great rabbi". Melchizedek of Siponto wrote a commentary on the Seraʿim order . In the Middle Ages , his commentary on the Toharot order was also quoted several times, but this has not been preserved.
